A crew member of a fishing boat, Argil Beudu (45), died when the boat capsized at the river mouth of the Mahanadi near the Paradip fishing harbour on Wednesday.
The boat having six crew members faced troubles at the river mouth due to heavy underwater current and later capsized in the deep water. The crew members asked for help from other three boats present there.
The boats managed to save five crews but failed to rescue Beudu, a native of Sandakuda village under the Paradip Municipality.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Marine police had recovered the dead body of a fisherman, Devendra Mallick, a resident of Basudevpur in Bhadrak district, from the fishing harbour on the Paradip outskirts.
