An wielder mechanic was killed and another sustained 70 per cent burn injuries when a gas cylinder exploded in the IOCl plant premises at Paradip on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Sujit Giri and the injured as Subodh Giri, both from Madinapur district in West Bengal.
Subodh was rushed to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack. After the incident, tension prevailed in the IOCl premises and the police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
