After a video of a girl being stripped in the Talasari sea beach at Bhograi in the district went viral, the Talasari Marine police detained a youth for interrogation in connection with the case on Sunday.
A youth was detained and being questioned in connection with the incident, informed the Jaleswar SDPO. Police sources said a manhunt has been launched to nab the hooligans, who had stripped the girl and thrashed her male companion.
The cops have identified the three accused and are conducting raids at various suspected hideouts to nab them.Notably, a group of drunken anti-socials beat up the youth and stripped the girl in front of him.
Surprisingly, other people, who were present at the spot, were shamelessly shooting the scene on their smartphones instead of rescuing the young couple from clutches of the goons. They later circulated the video on various social media sites.
“Three youth misbehaved with us while we were sitting together on the beach. When I opposed, they started assaulted us and threatened to kill us. They filmed the stripping scene and wanted to extort money to delete the video. As we failed to pay them, they uploaded the video clip on social media,” alleged the victim’s male companion.
