A man of Sundargarh district was arrested and
forwarded to court on Friday afternoon by Bargaon police allegedly for
raping his lover for last 13 years, promising to marry her and for
terminating her pregnancy.
The accused Biranchi Pujhari(35) of Kustuna village under Bargaon
police limits had a love affair with a minor girl of the same locality
when she was 13 years old and Biranchi was 22 years old.
Biranchi used to maintain physical relationship with the minor girl,
promising to marry her and was also taking her frequently to
Brajarajnagar, Sundargarh and Jharsugda on different occasions and was
keeping her in rented houses at those places. Biranchi maintained the
physical relationship with the girl for 13 years and the lover of Biranchi
who is now 26 years age, got pregnant about four months ago.
When Biranchi came to know about her pregnancy, he persuaded her to
abort her four months pregnancy. When she did not agree for abortion,
he allegedly forcibly damaged her pregnancy and later he admitted her
in a private clinic at Brajarajnagar in April. When the girl later told him
to marry her, he started avoiding her. On Wednesday, the girl lodged a
complaint with police.
