The doctors under the banner of Orissa Medical Services Association (OMSA) have threatened to embark on agitation if the people involved  in heckling the Nilgiri Sub-Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) are not brought to book within 72 hours.

The decision has been taken by the doctors following a meeting held on Friday.

According to reports, the situation  erupted after a group of people abused  and heckled SDMO  Ajay Samal asking why Union Minister  Pratap Sarangi was not invited  to the inauguration  function  and why there was no name of the Minister  on  the plaque.

The  inauguration  function was held  on Wednesday  as the local truck association donated two cabins  to Rogi Kalyan Samiti in the SDM.

After  the inaugural  meeting a group   barging into the chamber of SDMO Samal  besides abusing the latter  in slangs  also heckled  Samal  in the presence of CDMO and other medical staffs.

Later, they broke the plaque in public glare. SDMO Samal, however, maintained that  in the earlier meeting  it was decided by all attendees who would be invited  and it was decided the local MLA and the district collector would be guest .Under the circumstances, what was his fault?

However, following his hackling  in abusive languages, Samal went  on leave since then   where the medical staff began protest demanding arrest of all culprits by wearing black badges.
