OMSA precipitates SCB junior doctors' stir

Published on:

Whereas over 50 per cent of the Junior doctors of the SCB Medical College, who are on strike for five days, are members of the Odisha Medical Service Association (OMSA), the association on Friday decided that all its members across the State would perform their duties wearing black badges in support of the cause of the striking SCB doctors.

This was announced by OMSA executive member Dr Bhupendra Buda here.

On the other hand, despite sincere efforts from the Health Department assuring the striking doctors that their concerns would be addressed proactively, the cease-work agitation by the junior doctors continued for the fifth day.

Demanding proper security at their places of work, the junior doctors have been boycotting their duty since Monday evening after a junior doctor was allegedly attacked by a relative of a patient, who apparently died while undergoing

treatment.

Barring little inconveniences at the OPD, the healthcare services are running smoothly in the hospital, official sources said.
