Agriculture, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Minister Pradeep Maharathy opened a modern ice-cream parlour of the Omfed at Saheed Nagar here on Wednesday.
He also launched an online shopping platform of the Omfed to provide its customers a flexible buying experience.
The ice-cream parlour has been constructed at a cost of `25 lakh to provide ice-cream and a range of milk and other products to customers.
The first such parlour had been opened at Siripur near the OUAT on February 4. Within a short period of time, this parlour has done a business of `14.75 lakh till date.
“People in the municipal corporation area of Bhubaneswar who hardly get time to visit our Omfed parlours can now relax and get the product delivered at their home by placing order online,” said Omfded Managing Director and Fisheries and ARD Secretary Bishnupada Sethi.
“We will look at the response and consider extending the facility to other areas” he said. The State Government has decided to support the Omfed to open modern ice-cream parlours at 10 such locations, he added.
