Dairy farmers of Bargarh block poured their day’s yield on NH-53 on Sunday alleging apathy of Government and the Sambalpur Milk Producers Association managed by the OMFED in collecting the produce from them.
More than 5,000 litres of milk was poured on the road, the farmer said. It was the second such demonstration of the dairy farmers in the district.
The protestors said they started supplying milk to the OMFED after the State Government announced certain relaxations in the Covid-19 lockdown norms in May. However, the Sambalpur Milk Producers Association refused to procure milk from the registered dairy farmers in the district, resulting in huge losses to them.
The agitators threatened to intensify their stir from next week if the district administration does not take steps to allow milk procurement from the farmers.
