Ollywood actress Sweta Mishra on Sunday lodged a dowry torture complaint with the Commissionerate Police against her husband Sidhanta Siladitya Padhee.
According to Sweta, her husband along with his parents tortured her both physically and mentally. Sweta had married with Sidhanta on June 24 last year. “Since my marriage, my husband and his parents have been torturing me demanding more dowries. They even took an attempt to kill me by giving tablets,” said Sweta in her complaint, adding that, she was even tortured by his husband in Switzerland, where Sidhanta is doing his job.
Stating that her in-laws have forcibly taken signature from her at gun points, Sweta in her complaint further alleged that she was forced to sleep on floor in minus temperature in Switzerland by her husband.
“The torture crossed all limits when I directly denied my in-laws’ proposal to ask my father to transfer the ownership of a flat in which he is staying in Bhubaneswar in my name,” said Sweta demanding stringent legal action against the accused.
