Following a viral video on social networking sites showing girl students of the SCS College dancing with wine bottles on Saraswati Puja, the Students’ Union of the collage of 2017-18 on Monday demanded stern action after a vivid probe in the matter.
In a Press meet, the union denounced the dances of girl students in inebriated condition on a sacred occasion of Saraswati Puja. Terming the incident as most horrific in a most revered campus of the State, the students’ body blamed both the college authority and district administration for silence towards an offensive trend in the campus.
“It is most shocking to look at many girls dancing with wine bottle in hands in the premises of the SCS College on the Saraswati Puja. It has surely lowered the fame and dignity of the famous campus of Odisha,” said president of the union Rabi Narayan Nayak.
Nayak also said that they have given complaints to the Principal earlier in the incident but so far no action from the college side has been initiated. He suspected participation of outside students in the incident.
Notably, some girl students of SCS Autonomous College observed the Saraswati Puja dancing and singing with beer bottles in hand. Some students captured the visuals by mobile phone and uploaded the same on social networking sites.
