A 52-year-old man committed suicide fearing old age-related sufferings at Meenakshi Nagar under the Gosani Nuagaon police limits in Brahmapur city on Sunday.
The deceased Ajit Kumar Panda (52), who was a Laboratory Assistant at the Royal College of Pharmacy And Health Sciences here.
During the night before the day of the incident, Panda had posted on Facebook a photo of his suicide note, in which it was mentioned that he saw “a very difficult old-age” period of his deceased mother for which he feared the old age.
“Nobody is responsible for my committed suicide,” the note added.
Being informed by his relatives and colleagues, police reached Panda’s rented house and seized the body. The suicide note was also seized by the cops.
An unnatural death case in this regard has been registered. The actual reason of the death can be ascertained after postmortem of the body, a police official said.
