Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) president and Rajya Sabha member Pyarimohan Mohapatra on on Tuesday said an electoral alliance issue between his party and the BJP in the State would be finalised within 10 days.
“I am in touch with the BJP central leadership since the last 14 months about an OJM-BJP alliance. I have got positive signals from the BJP central leadership on this,” said Mohapatra, adding that the alliance with the saffron party would take a concrete shape after the discussions on seat sharing are completed.
“The alliance will be a reality only after the discussions on seat sharing are successful,” he said. Mohapatra said the OJM has approached most political parties in Odisha, barring the Congress, to come forward to forge an alliance and come under one umbrella. This formation can then be part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he said. On the other hand, BJP State leaders maintained that they are yet to take a stand on the OJM leader’s proposal for a tie-up.
