A day after the Supreme Court lifted its stay order on conduct of a special Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), the OJEE authorities on Friday announced that the special test would be heldon September 7.
As per the decision, OJEE would publish advertisements on August 30 for registration of students willing to appear the test. The registration process will continue till September 1.
The results of the test would be announced on September 9 after which the students can download their rank card from the OJEE website www.ojee.nic.in on September 10.
This would be followed by a two-day counseling from September 10 to 12 after which the students will take admission in the institutions in accordance with their rank, sources in the OJEE said.
Notably, much to the embarrassment of the State Government, the Supreme Court on Thursday directed the OJEE to conduct a special test for admission of the students for over more than 38,0000 vacant seats.
The directive of the apex court came after hearing an intervention application was filed by the Odisha Technical Colleges Association (OTCA).
It may be mentioned that over 38,000 seats had fallen vacant after the final allotment list was announced by the OJEE.
later, the Odisha Private Engineering Colleges’ Association (OPECA) had moved the Odisha High Court for conduct of special OJEE and received an order in its favour.
Challenging the HC order, the OJEE authorities later moved the SC. The apex court had then ordered a stay on the special OJEE test in the State.
However, the OTCA later moved the apex court with an intervention application to lift its stay order by considering the large number of vacant seats and the future of the students of Odisha.
