The Odisha Jan Sammukhya on Friday urged the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to provide justice to the Samruddha activists who were arrested while protesting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s recent Kalahandi district visit. A team of the Sammukhya led by its president Ajeya Rout submitted a memorandum to OHRC Chairman to this effect.
The memorandum alleged that some Samruddha Odisha activists during peaceful protests against the CM at the inauguration of Behera Setu in Dharmagarh, the police unlawfully arrested them. Party general secretary Digambar Duria had led the protests. “We have requested the OHRC to take stringent action against the district administration’s politically-motivated act,” the memorandum said.
