Principal Secretary of Water Resources Department Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, department Chief Engineer Satrughna Das visited the coastal villages of Arakhakuda, Satapada, Alupatana, Baliamundi, Sipakuda and Gangadharpur in Krushnaprasad block in Puri district that have been severely affected by the Phailin.
They went round the damaged embankments in the villages. An embankment that was constructed in Arakhakuda village was washed away in the calamity.
