As the number of Covid-19 patients has witnessed a sizeable decline in recent days, five Covid Care Centres (CCCs) have been closed here. Currently, only a-100 bed CCC in CIPET at Bamapada is running while the rest have been closed. The CCCs which are dismantled are 100 each bed at Suteibadagain Adarsh Vidyalaya ,Government polytechnic and FM college campus and 70 beded at Jaleswar and 55 beded at Soro. According to reports, when Covid 19 infection was at its peak, hardly any accommodation was available in any of CCCs or hospitals in the district. Majority of the patients were receiving treatment in home isolation. Since the number of patients showed a downward trend, these CCCs were closed.
However , the treatment at both the Covid hospitals with 100 beds, one at standalone (Jyothi hospital) and another at District Headquarters Hospital are still operational while the load of patients has reduced. Chief District Medical Officer, Dulalsen Jagdeo said in most of the cases the patients are receiving treatment in home isolation and are recovering too. The serious patients and the ones with co-morbidity are being treatment in the hospitals, he added.
He further said since the number of Covid patients has witnessed a decline , the number of general bed had been reduced. He, however, informed that the number of ICU beds was kept unchanged.
However , he cautioned that everyone should take adequate precautions and abide by the Covid guidelines given the onset of winter.
