In the scenario of the rising trend in global temperature, the consequent threats of climate change and the recent instances of natural disasters, the best option before us to neutralise their impacts to certain extent is to undertake massive plantation programme, thus enhancing the greenery around us.

Besides, it would also facilitate our efforts for protecting the biodiversity and maintaining the ecological balance. With the objective of spreading this message among youths and involving more and more students in tree planting programmes, the Orissa Environmental Society (OES) has been continuing its efforts to plant saplings in the premises of various educational institutions.

Planting of saplings was undertaken on Thursday in the premises of the Ashram School and Palasuni Government High School at Rasulgarh under the auspices of OES' 'Clean and Green Campaign'.
