State-level cultural body Sudha has been organising workshops and performances-cum-demonstrations on the basic rules of the Odishi dance in various schools here.
Although Odissi has its roots in Odisha, most of the students and teachers in the schools of the State are yet to know various nuances of the classical dance form and Odishi music.
The main objective of the programme is to strengthen and build up in students love and understanding of India’s natural and cultural heritage. It is a process to create an environment by which youths shun the path of violence, frenzied communal clashes and terrorism, said an official of Sudha.
He said the training offers a strong sustainable interactive base to the students, teachers, parents and the community to develop their internal strength and capacity building. The students are advised to develop their ethics of kindness towards all men.
