At a time when Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has put the ball of the Mahanadi water dispute row to the Prime Minister’s court pleading for an early solution, Chhattisgarh Water Resources Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal on Saturday alleged that Odisha is using more Mahanadi water against the agreement made during the construction of the Hirakud Dam reservoir.
Talking to reporters, the Chhattisgarh Water Resources Minister said that if his Government puts the fact and figure on the usage of water then Odisha will be nowhere to show its face.
“Odisha is using excess water against the agreement made during the Hirakud Dam construction. If we come out with the fact and figure then Odisha will be exposed,” said Agrawal, reiterating that the Odisha Government is only politicising the matter.
