In view of the importance of exhibitions and trade fairs, the State Government will hold the second edition of the Odisha MSME International Trade Fair from January 1 to 7 next at the IDCO Exhibition Ground here.

The fair 2014 will be organised by the State’s MSME Department jointly with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). A large number of low-cost technologies would be demonstrated in the fair which would be helpful for the youths who would like to become self-employed. The theme of the fair this year would be ‘Technology for self employment’.

A preparatory meeting was held chaired by Minister of MSME Damodar Rout earlier this week. The meeting emphasised on adequate publicity for the fair so that a large number of unemployed youths of the State could attend it to gather knowledge on establishment of micro, small and medium industries. Students from technical institutions would be invited to take advantage of the participation of a large number of MSMEs of various categories.

The presence of financial institutions is expected to be helpful in guiding the MSMEs in solving their credit requirement problems and enriching their marketing skills.

Gujarat will join the fair in a big way apart from enterprises from all over the country. Some participants from countries like Bhutan, South Africa, Hungary, EU and Czech Republic are also expected to attend the fair.
