Odisha State Day was inaugurated by Minister of Energy, Information & Public Relations Arun Kumar Sahoo at the India International Trade Fair-2013 at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Saturday evening.
Cultural presentations like Odishi, Gotipua Dance, Jodi Sankha, Ranapa, Chhow, Sambalpuri and Contemporary Dance (New Age Krishna) by Harihar Dash touched the hearts of spectators on the occasion.
Principal Resident Commissioner Sunil Kumar Bhargava, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Information & Public Relations Pradeep Kumar Jena and I&PR Director Pramod Kumar Das, among other officials, were present.
Minister Sahoo went round the Odisha Pavilion and interacted with the participants and artisans. The pavilion has attracted large numbers of visitors during these days. Many dignitaries both from the Union Government and different States’ Governments visited the stalls and enjoyed lip smacking food items.
Handloom and handicraft items were showcased in the pavilion and many foreign bought exclusive products.
