For uploading morphed obscene photos of Odia girl
The cyber police of the State Crime Branch have arrested a Bangalore-based youth for allegedly uploading morphed obscene photos of an Odia girl by opening a fake Facebook account in her name.
Basing on a complaint relating to the uploading of the photographs in the social media, the cyber cops arrested one Panchu Pan (36) of Bangalore and produced him before a local court here on Wednesday. Sources said the accused, booked under Sections 292, 465, 469 and 500 of the IPC and Sections 66-A, 66-C, 67 and 67-A of Information Technology (Amend) Act-2008, was remanded to judicial custody.
During the course of investigation, prima facie evidence was made out against the accused for having committed the crime. A team of cyber crime police station here had proceeded to Bangalore and the accused was apprehended on August 30 with the help of local police there. The accused was brought here on Tuesday on transit remand after he was produced before a Bangalore court.
