The Congress camp in Odisha was jubilant after reports about the party’s impressive victory in the Karnataka Assembly elections came on Wednesday.
leaders and workers of the party danced to the tune of traditional instruments at the State party headquarters, Congress Bhavan. A beaming PCC president Niranjan Patnaik hailed the Karnataka poll outcome and hoped that the party would come to power in the elections in Odisha scheduled next year.
Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra said the Karnataka situation would be repeated in Odisha as the internal bickering in the ruling BJD here on the issue of corruption would have the same effect as the intra-party wrangling in the governing BJP led to the rout of the saffron party there.
