The State Government has decided to develop towns and cities on Gujarat Town Planning Model. The project would be implemented on a pilot basis in Bhubaneswar soon. A team of BDA officials on Wednesday made a presentation before Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Dr Taradatt in this regard.
As per the proposal, the BDA would develop the city in patches, each measuring 200 acres. All households located in a particular project area would be provided water, electricity, roads and schools. Besides, drainage and sewerage systems would be developed. If required, the Government would acquire a maximum 15 per cent of private land for development of infrastructure.
