Odisha has bagged award for securing second spot in the implementation of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme.
The State received the award from Union Housing & Urban Development Secretary Hardeep Singh Puri at a National Dissemination Workshop on Ease of Living Index 2018 on Monday in New Delhi. The ranking of the States was decided last month by the National Level Rating Framework assessment up to August 21, 2018. The scheme has been implemented in Odisha’s nine AMRUT towns, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Brahmapur, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Baleswar, Bhadrak and Baripada. As of now, the State Government has approved 192 projects under the AMRUT scheme. These include 130 water supply, 14 septage and 48 park projects at an investment of around Rs 1,810 crore. The scheme is being financed by both the Central and State Governments on a 50:50 sharing.
