Odisha, which is leading in the country in terms Covid-19 testing, is among the top six best-performing States as far as the positivity rate is concerned.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated this on Thursday.
The positivity rate is the percentage of people, who test positive for the virus, of those overall who have been tested.
“The lower the positivity rate the better. As more and more testing is being conducted in Odisha with the number crossing 50,000-mark per day, the lesser number of people being tested positive is the hallmark of a good performing State,” said an official release.
Odisha’s positivity rate stands at 6% against the national average of 8.69%.
“Odisha is performing much better than large states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar, Assam and Gujarat,” the release added.
