The body of Sushant Nayak (30), who had died in a coal company in Bhutan, was brought to his village Mukundapur under Begunia block’s Kantabada gram panchayat in Khordha district on Saturday.
Sushant had gone to Bhutan under the guidance of Balaram Pradhan of Banapur block’s Harijunda Baradi village to work in the company a month ago. However, he died in the company premises as a mound of coal collapsed over him on Thursday.
While the company has given Rs 10,000 to the family, the body was cremated in the
village graveyard on Saturday evening.
Villagers have demanded that the Government provide adequate compensation to the deceased’s family soon.
