Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday talked to Union Minister of Culture Chandresh Kumari Katoch over telephone regarding approval of classical status to Odia language.
He requested her to present the issue at the Central Cabinet. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday expressed his happiness over the expert committee’s recommendation to the Union Culture Ministry to accord classical status to Odia language and said that it was the longstanding demand of Odia people.
