One of the nine jawans of the CRPF’s 212 Battalion killed in the Maoist attack in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday was identified as an Odia.
The martyred jawan was identified as Manoranjan lenka of Rebana Nuagaon under Brahmagiri block of Puri district.
The jawans of the paramilitary force, including lenka, were reportedly attacked when they were on their way from Kistaram to Palodi, conducting an area-domination operation.
Reports said the Red rebels detonated three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to blow up the Mine Protected Vehicle (MPV) the jawans were travelling in.
