OAS officer Santosh Kumar Mohanty, Tehsildar of Udala in Mayurbhanj district, was arrested by the Vigilance police last week for taking bribe of Rs 5,000. Vigilance sleuths caught Mohanty red-handed when he was accepting the bribe from one Jogendra Kar of Udala town as per the former’s previous demand. He had demanded the bribe for release of Kar’s security deposit amounting to Rs 44,160, which he had deposited for lease of a Bali Ghat (sand dune).
