The Indian council of Agriculture (ICAR) and the Central Institute for Woman in Agriculture (CIWA), Bhubaneswar organised launching of “Nutri Smart Villages: An Innovative Model", for strengthening the Poshan Abhiyan.
Laxminrusingha Jana Kalyan Association of Taraboi and oself helf groups (SHGs) of Balanga area participated in the drive.
Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare NS Tomar inaugurated the programme through virtual mode. A training was imparted on nutrition garden, value addition, besides on consumption of fruits, vegetables, milk, egg and pulses in diet.
A farmers-scientists interface was organised in which scientist of ICAR-CIWA participated. The programme was presided over by Dr Biswanath Sahoo.
Dr Jyoti Nayak, Dr Laxmipriya Sahoo, Dr Sachitananda Swain, Dr Praveen Jhakar, Manoranjan Prusty, Bhikaricharan Behera, besides women farmers representatives from different villages of Puri, Cuttack and Khordha participated.
