While the indefinite strike demanding immediate removal of their Principal by the students of the SCB hospital’s nursing school entered the second day on Wednesday, the local Mangalabag police started investigating into the matter by registering a case against the nursing school Principal Kajal Rani Sinha.
Alleging that the principal had misbehaved with some students using derogatory remarks and beaten some causing injuries, the students are on strike since Tuesday. Although the Hospital Superintendent has formed a committee to look into the allegations of the students, the committee is yet to submit its report.
Meanwhile, basing on a written complaint by a victim student, the police have booked the Principal on several charges under IPC and the SC and ST (Prevention of atrocities) Act. “Investigations into the case have started,” informed the police, refusing to divulge details.
A team of the BJP Mahila Morcha led by party spokesperson lekhashree Samantsinghar visited the nursing school campus and expressed its solidarity with the striking students.
