Nursing students pin hopes on Health Min

Pinning their last hopes on the Health Minister to resolve their school impasse, the students of the SCB Nursing School here have decided to meet the Minister again on May 24.

The students told reporters on Thursday that if their standoff with the school principal continues, they would resume their hospital duties without stipend and urge the teachers to teach them on roads.

The school has been closed indefinitely since May 13 after the campus witnessed chaos for over a week when the students resorted to strike demanding removal of their principal Kajal Rani Sinha who has allegedly been giving them physical and mental sufferings. They have also lodged police cases against the principal.

“We hope the Health Minister will look into our grievance sympathetically. If no solution comes up, we will resume our hospital duties without the stipend and urge the teachers, other than the principal, to teach us outside the school campus on roads,” said a student, Amita Sahu.
