The family of deceased nurse Niharika Patra on Thursday moved the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) alleging that more than one person were involved in Niharika’s murder.
In a petition, the family alleged that besides Niharika’s boyfriend Raja, more persons are accused in the murder case. But only Raja has been arrested by police.
Notably, police arrested Raja after Niharika’s body was found in the Biridi police station area in Jagatsinghpur district.
Police during investigations claimed that the nurse was murdered by Raja in a house at Chauliaganj in Cuttack and later her body was stuffed in a sack and taken on a motorcycle by Raja and dumped in a riverbed at Biridi.
The family members allege that the murder was not the job of a single person, but a gang was involved in the crime.
