The performance of Nuapada district in implementation of various schemes and programmes has improved a lot in last few months.

The ranking report of districts in Dash Board Monitoring System for July-2014 has revealed that Nuapada district has achieved second rank in the overall ranking of districts in the State.

The Dash Board Monitoring System has been developed by the Panchayati Raj department for evaluating performances of various schemes of the districts on the basis of 50 monitoring parameters. Keonjhar district has stood first in the overall ranking for July 2014 followed by Nuapada.

When Keonjhar has scored 51 points out of 100, Nuapada has got 47.8 points in total. Bhadrak, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri have taken the last three places in the overall ranking. In the ranking for MGNREGS scheme, Subarnapur and Nuapada districts have taken first and second places respectively. Nuapada is also second in rank in Odisha livelihood Mission (OlM) after Khurda. In the ranking of rural housing scheme and financial expenditure status, Nuapada district has taken 5th and 7th ranks respectively.

“We will do our best to take Nuapada to the first rank,” says district Collector Jaykumar V.“We are doing our duty, there is nothing to take credit of,” he adds.

“It is an irony that when the district has been highly ranked at 2 this month in developmental and good governance parameters due to the sincere and effective measures and commitment of the district administration led by Jaikumar, several mischief mongers and a handful of vested interest are restoring to flimsy grounds demanding his transfer,” said an official of Khariar block.
