A State-level post-Navanna get-together of tribals of the Sabar community, Nuakhai Bhetghat, was held at Khariar in Nuapada district on Friday.
Thousands of women of the community participated in a Kalasa Yatra held from the Samaleswari Temple to the Bhetghat venue.
A meeting was also held on the occasion. leaders spoke about the tribal unity and empowerment to fight discrimination and influence decision making process in the society as well as in the Government.
Biharilal Biswal presided over the meeting. Hrushikesh Bhoi, who plays the role of Kansha in the Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, was the main attraction on the occasion.
Paschima Odisha Adivashi Mahasangha general secretary Niranjan Bishi was present as the chief speaker.
Former Gunpur MlA Ramamurti Gamang, Biswabasu Sabar Samaj secretary Balakrushna Sabar, Jayaram Sabar, Bhanuprap Singh Majhi, Saraswati Sabar and Baladev Bhoi were present as speakers.
