The Vigilance police on Monday caught Angul district’s NTPC police station Inspector In-Charge (IIC) Mahosmita Panda red-handed for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 10,000.
She was caught taking bribe inside her office chamber from complainant Suvendu Kumar Dash of Telisingha village in Angul district to bail out aunt and cousin brother of the complainant.
Her residential Government quarter at NTPC police station campus, Kaniha and house at Railway Colony in Atharabanki in Paradip were searched. She was arrested and forwarded to court.
