Odisha without Border (Aseem Odisha), an apex body of organisations striving to promote interests of Odias and Odisha, is planning to hold a global summit of non-resident Odias (NROs) here in December.

The summit would discuss about image building of the State across the world by initiating constructive steps for its development. Over 1,000 NROs are expected to attend the event, said members of the Aseem Odisha.

Director of secretariat of Aseem Odisha Pranab Kishore Pani said they would discuss about the

promotion and branding of culture, heritage and tourism of the State. “We will try to attract more investment for Odisha to create employment in the State,” said Pani, adding, “We will open an institute for entrepreneurship development in the State.”

“If we reconstruct our State’s lost glory, we can reverse the brain drain trend of Odia talents,” said Pani, adding, “Now, the right time has come to do something for the State.”

Chief mentor of the organisation Nihar Samantaray, a former scientist of DRDO and a business professional settled in

Bangalore said Odias are doing well outside the State and they have a special interest to be part of the

development process of the State.

The Aseem Odisha has formed eight sub-committees for development of the State in various fields like industry, science and technology, education, healthcare, tourism and infrastructure.
