The National Rural livelihoods Mission (NRlM) has the potential to bridge the critical gap between development and the marginalized, said Odisha livelihoods Mission Director Pranabjyoti Nath at a NRlM national level workshop held at Konark recently.
“Institutional building effort with sustainable development goal is very important. We must include the bottom 5 per cent of population in to SHG folds as these households are worst hit of poverty, suffering from starvation, malnutrition or debt-induced suicides and mostly excluded from entitlement transfer,” said Nath.
The programme hosted by the OlM was attended by 75 Mission Directors, Additional Directors and Managers of 17 States.
Among others, NRlM Deputy Director Sandeep Sharma, Capacity Building lead KP Rajendran, IB and HR lead Usha Rani, Health lead Dr Isha Prasad Bhagabat, Dhruv J Sengupata and Phiip Mathew participated.
