N'rangpur scribes denied insurance

Some local senior scribes have expressed their disappointment over the non-inclusion of their names in the list under the Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana  which was published by the office of the DIPRO Nabarangpur on Monday.

According to reports, 74 scribes of the district were selected by the DIPRO and were handed over health cards by the Nabarangpur district Collector on Tuesday.

Prasant Sahu, a senior scribe of the locality, said the Odisha State Working Journalists Health Insurance Scheme-2016 has been notified by the Government to provide health insurance facilities to the working journalist of the State. The working journalists identified by the district administration and the names of the working journalists recommended by DIPRO with approval of Collector shall be eligible for availing the benefits of the scheme, but here, while preparing the list, the DIPRO ignored several senior scribes of Nabarangpur by not intimating them in time to submit the application form for the scheme and prepared the list in a slapdash manner, alleged Sahu. Further in this connection, they will move to the Collector for necessary action, he added.
