Vigilance police on Thursday arrested Nabarangpur district’s Dalabeda GP Executive Officer (PEO) Bijay Kumar Behera for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from Balaram Majhi of Bhatipada for recommending issuance of IAY work order in his favour.
Complainant Majhi informed the Vigilance while an IAY house had allotted been in his name, Behera, when approached, demanded the bribe amount to recommend for issuance of the work order. The Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Behera red-handed while taking Rs 5,000 from Majhi in his rented residential house at Chandahandi.
