The annual day celebrations of Nabarangpur Zilla Nagarik Suraksha and Sachetana Manch was held here on Thursday.
Attending the function as the chief guest, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Secretary Arun Kumar Misra said special attention would be given to Nabarangpur headquarters town’s development. The Center is ready to provide additional fund for construction of community halls, drainage and other development activities.
Expressing concern over slow progress of IHSDP housing, and inability to utilise Rs 3 crore, which was meant for different development activities in Nabarangpur municipality, he directed the authorities to invite tender to utilise the fund within three months so that additional funds will be given soon.
Among others, principal chief conservator of forest Subash Chandra Mishra, municipality chairman Prahald Tripathy, executive officer Indira Sahu, manch genral secretary Bhabani Sankar Baidhar and industrialist Jagadish Prasad Mishra attended. Manch president Durga Prasad Rath presided.
