Vigilance officers on Friday conducted simultaneous searches on Nabarangpur disrict’s Badni SSD Ashram School Headmaster Surendra Harijan’s houses and office room at different places and detected assets worth Rs 1,02,03,389 in his and his family members’ names.
Harijan’s four-storied building at Medri Sahi and double-storied building at Hirli Donger Street, Nabarangpur and school office room were searched on the strength of a search warrant.
During searches, they detected assets worth Rs 1,02,03,389 which includes buildings and plots of Rs 68 lakh, household articles of Rs 3 lakh, gold ornaments of Rs 6.94 lakh, motor vehicles of Rs 1.35 lakh, deposits of Rs 14.74 lakh and money receipt towards purchase of land and interest of Rs 8 lakh.
Harijan had entered into Government service as an Assistant Teacher in April 1983 in Rayagada district and promoted to the rank of Headmaster in the year 1988. Thereafter, he was transferred to Nabarangpur district and is continuing in the post.
