Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested Gram Rojgar Sanjojak Santosh Kumar Jena of Hatgabharandi in Nabarangpur district for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 4,500 from Debiram Gonda of Hatabharandi village.
Jena had demanded the bribe for processing a file to release Rs.40,000 towards second installment for construction of a house under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY).
Gonda alleged that his wife Jayanti was issued a work order for construction of the house under the IAY. She has received first advance of Rs 20,000. When Gonda requested Jena to processing file for releasing the second installment, the latter demanded the bribe.
later, Gonda informed the matter to the Vigilance, following which a trap was laid and Jena was caught red-handed.
