Demanding proper implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), activists of the Congress Khariar unit in Nuapada district led by Adhiraj Panigrahi staged a demonstration in front of the Khariar NAC office.
The activists also submitted a memorandum to the NAC Executive Officer addressing to the Governor. Panigrahi lamented thousands of eligible persons have been deprived of the benefits under the food security scheme due to lackadaisical attitude of the ruling BJD Government.
He further alleged “Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has no rights to run the Government, if he is not able to address the food security needs of the majority of poor in the State”.
“The food security programme has benefited thousands of undeserving, well-to-do people whereas many poor people have been excluded from the beneficiary list”, he further said.
leaders like Kamal lochan Tandi, Sunil Sahu, advocate Sushanta Tandi, Raju Chhabda, Santu Pattnaik and Dr Siddhartha Mahapatra also addressed the gathering.
