Two days after calling party colleagues “chors” (thieves) and a day after literally being reprimanded by party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, BJD MP Tathagata Satpathy on Friday expressed regrets over his derogatory remarks and said he would try to improve his “characteristic flaw”.
However, how far his apology would satisfy the targeted leaders is to be seen.
The Dhenkanal MP took to the social networking site to contain the resentment brewing among the party leaders against him.
“Regret shooting my mouth & hurting sentiments. Will try to improve my characteristic flaw,” Satpathy Tweeted.
On Wednesday, while addressing a function at Hindol under his constituency, Satpathy had talked about corruption in the Congress and the BJP and at the same time referred to some of his BJD colleagues recently dropped as Ministers by Naveen Patnaik as “Chors”.
In particular, he took the name of dislodged Minister and party vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra and cited him as an example of a Chor.
Upset over Satpathy’s remarks, Patnaik on Thursday said he would seek an explanation from the MP.
