After a gap of a few months, BJD leaders Minister Damodar Rout and MlA Debasis Samantray on Friday engaged in verbal duel with Rout accusing the latter of being a “self-destroyer” and Samantray alleging that Rout has become “intolerant”.
Reacting to some statements made by Samantray on him, Rout who is known not to take things lying down and has an acerbic tongue, termed the Cuttack-Barabati MlA as a man of low calibre.
“Debasis and Bishnu Das (Rajya Sabha member) are providing patronage to criminal elements,” said Rout.
“Everybody knows his (Samantray’s) nature and activities. His mother passed away only thinking how a son like Debasis could be born to a respected Samantray family. Now, his father is crying inside the house,” alleged Rout.
On the other hand, Samnatray said that since his popularity is on the rise in Paradip, the constituency of Rout, the Minister has become intolerant.
“The man who had treated Bapi Sarkhel (of the Congress) as his adopted son is now talking of morality. Since my popularity in Paradip is on the rise, he has become intolerant,” said Samantray.
