In a bid to bring reforms in the Higher Education Department, the State Government has decided to revise the norms of payment to teachers forevaluation of examination answer sheets.
The payment of answer sheet evaluators would be increased, informed Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo on Wednesday. This was decided at a high-level meeting chaired by the Minister.
Official sources said the payment of teachers, who are preparing the questions for the examinations, would also be hiked.
With the move, the teachers would be paid Rs 30 each for answer sheet evaluation. Similarly, the payment of teachers for preparation of examination questions would be hiked from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000.
Besides, Sahoo directed the officials to set up evaluation centres for answer sheets. As per the revised norm, 15 colleges would have one evaluation centre.
