The North Orissa University (NOU) at Sriram Chandra Vihar, Takatpur, here, observed its 22-nd Foundation Day on Saturday. It was on July 13, 1998 that the university came into existence.
A colourful function on this occasion was organised in the university premises. The meeting was presided over by NOU Vice Chancellor Prof Pradeep Kumar Chand. While State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sudam Marandi was the chief guest on the occasion, Birla Global University Vice Chancellor Prof Sudhakar Panda attended the function as the chief speaker. Besides, Odisha Circle Chief Post Master General Dr Santosh Kumar Kamilla and Prof Rama Chandra Mohanty were the guests.
In addition to the NOU Newsletter, two books entitled “Odia Sahityara Vikasha re Mayurbhanj” and “Biotechnology For Sustainable Utilization Of Bioresources” were released by the guests on the occasion. While the writer of the first book is Dr Kavita Barik, the second book has been jointly authored by Prof Hruday Nath Thatoi and Dr Sukant Kumar Nayak.
PG Council chairperson Prof Susmita Kar introduced the guests, while NOU Registrar Prof Pramod Kumar Satpathy presented the annual report.
