The Urban Development Department has issued notification to conduct elections for the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and Baripada Municipality following the recommendations of State Election Commission (SEC). The SEC will now declare the dates for elections to the two urban local bodies, whose terms will expire in February.
“In pursuance of Section 64 of the Municipal Corporation Act, 2003 (Odisha Act 11 of 2003), the State Government does hereby call upon all wards in the city of CMC to elect corporators,” said the notification. The department also similarly issued notification for the Baripada Municipality.
